The Guest House’s History
The Guest House is located in downtown Excelsior, Minnesota just two blocks from Lake Minnetonka, the most popular recreational lake in Minnesota. The town is about 20 minutes southwest of Minneapolis and is known as a point of relaxation for people around the state. The home was built in 1858 and was previously a bed and breakfast. Within the one-square-mile downtown area, The Guest House is a main focal point.
About The Guest House
Two homes, The Guest House and The Carriage House, make up The Guest House estate. Perfect for larger groups, The Guest House sleeps up to 15 guests, featuring seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms. The Carriage House accommodates up to nine guests. It has three bedrooms, a bathroom, a full kitchen, and a living space. Even larger groups can reserve the entire estate for anything from weddings to family reunions. The property can accommodate up to 23 guests!
About the Miss INNdependant Show
Miss INNdependent follows nine women as they come together to purchase and renovate The Guest House property. With the help of a father/daughter build and design team, the group transforms the former bed and breakfast into a modern vacation rental and event space. Along the way, they face challenges like building issues and a surprise snowstorm. With the odds against them, they manage to complete the renovation in time for their first wedding at the estate!
